If the eye is too long, or if the cornea and the crystalline
lens do not focus the images properly, the rays of light will
be focused in front of the retina. This means that a myope will
see properly at close range, but that the distance vision will
not be sharp.
In our countries, more and less 30% of the population are myopes.
Myopia should remain stable between 20 and 40 years of age, but
can vary with pregnancy, computer work, systemic diseases.
